Electrical Project Manager / Director of Education

TLDR

This role leads a trade school's operations while shaping the future of electricians through curriculum development and instructor oversight.

You've spent years mastering the trade. You know the code, you've run the jobs, and you've probably spent more than a few hours explaining things to younger guys on the crew. What if that part — the teaching, the mentoring, the "let me show you how this actually works" — became the whole job?

A growing, well-regarded trade school in Southern Maine is looking for a credentialed electrician ready to step off the tools and into a leadership role that puts your knowledge to work in a different way. This isn't a classroom assistant position — it's a Director of Education opportunity, and it's one of the most impactful things a Master Electrician can do for the next generation of the trade.

What You'll Own

  • Lead daily school operations, including instructor oversight and administrative staff
  • Ensure all curriculum remains current with state licensing requirements and NEC updates
  • Maintain compliance with Maine education and licensing regulations, including audit readiness and accurate record-keeping
  • Monitor student progress, resolve escalated issues, and keep the student experience front and center
  • Work directly with ownership to expand programs into new markets and develop new course offerings
  • Support enrollment growth strategies and industry partnerships

Requirements

  • A Maine Master Electrician license — or the credentials and willingness to obtain one
  • At least five years of hands-on experience in the electrical industry
  • The kind of presence that earns respect in a room — polished, professional, and able to communicate clearly with students, staff, and partners
  • Some form of leadership or management experience, whether on a job site, in an office, or both
  • Teaching or training experience is a strong plus — but if you've never formally taught and you're drawn to it, that conversation is worth having
  • Familiarity with online or hybrid learning platforms is a bonus

Career changers welcome: if you've been a project manager, estimator, or field supervisor and you're ready to move into a professional office environment, this role is worth a serious look.
