About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Team Manager to lead a group of talented engineers working on power electronic and protection system designs for commercial and industrial applications. This role blends technical design leadership with team management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers.
Provide technical guidance on electrical system design, power distribution, controls, and protection systems.
Plan and coordinate engineering work across multiple projects.
Allocate resources, monitor schedules, risks, and deliverables.
Collaborate with project management, manufacturing, quality, and product teams.
Set goals, priorities, and performance expectations for team members.
Drive electrical engineering design leadership for power protection systems in production and development.
Create technical design specifications and design subsystems for mission-critical applications.
Act as project leader on new product development efforts.
Communicate complex technical solutions to both engineers and non-engineers.
Conduct one-on-ones, performance reviews, and coaching sessions.
Contribute to innovation, technology strategy, and intellectual property development.
Basic Qualifications
B.S. in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
8+ years of experience in electrical design.
2+ years of technical leadership or people management experience.
Strong decision-making skills under pressure.
Background in power distribution equipment, industrial controls, or critical power systems.
Preferred Qualifications
M.S. in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) or equivalent.
5+ years of experience with power systems or power electronics design.
Experience leading projects and teams.
Knowledge of ECNs, BOMs, product documentation systems, AutoCAD, Altium, dFMEA, HALT.
Excellent lab skills and problem-solving ability.
Familiarity with UL, IEC, and EMC electrical safety requirements.
Understanding of magnetics for power conversion.
Experience with wide-bandgap (WBG) switching devices, simulation, and application.
Background in control theory and embedded programming.
