Sunlighten’s Electrical Engineer will drive both existing product improvements and new product development. The ideal candidate brings the right mix of initiative, expertise, and strong communication skills to join a company experiencing significant growth. In this role, you will drive engineering projects ranging from new capabilities and products to application solutions through launch and full commercialization.

You will work directly with our Product Development team to bring new ideas to life and provide engineering and manufacturing support for both new and existing products. Collaboration is key, so you will partner closely with our Sr. Electrical Engineer and Sr. Mechanical Engineer to ensure seamless design and execution.

Experience with connected devices is highly desirable, as our products integrate mechanical, electrical, and technological components that require a strong understanding of system design and integration. This individual will play an instrumental role in building a center of engineering excellence at Sunlighten’s headquarters, ensuring our products continue to uphold their reputation for innovation and reliability.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead and drive existing product improvements and new product development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Executive Leadership and the Product Development team to spearhead new engineering projects.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of product development from concept through launch and commercialization.
  • Provide engineering support for both new and existing products, addressing and resolving issues as they arise. With these projects, you will need to collaborate with teams across the organization, including Customer Care, Sales, Logistics, Manufacturing and Marketing.
  • Utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills to perform root cause analysis on complex technical challenges.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, ensuring complex data is presented in clear, understandable, and visually appealing formats.
  • The product categories that you will be designing for and supporting are:
    • Infrared Saunas
    • Red Light Products
    • Cold Plunge Chillers

Requirements

  • 5+ years of electrical engineering work experience.
  • 1 year of experience in the manufacturing of health and wellness equipment and products or similar industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience using circuit simulation and PCB design software (PSpice and Altium preferred).
  • 3+ years embedded programming experience (C/C++). ESP32 and PIC familiarity preferred.
  • PCB thermal analysis, airflow analysis, high ambient temperature circuit design.
  • Rapid prototyping, 3D printing, soldering.
  • Familiar with multimeter, oscilloscope, low voltage DC and mains voltage supply use.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems and their integration into mechanical designs.
  • Knowledge of product development processes, including prototyping and testing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
