Role Overview

The Electrical Engineer supports the design, development, installation and commissioning of electrical systems on hyperscale data-centre projects. You will produce technical documentation, support installation teams, ensure compliance and provide engineering clarity throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Development

• Design electrical systems including LV distribution, lighting, fire alarms and control systems.
• Produce drawings, schematics and technical specifications.
• Conduct load calculations, cable sizing and fault level studies.
  

Project Delivery

• Provide engineering support during installation, testing and commissioning.
• Review contractor designs and materials.
• Support project handover with as-builts and O&M documentation.
  
  

Testing, Inspection & Maintenance

• Perform site surveys and inspections.
• Oversee testing and commissioning of installations.
• Ensure compliance with BS 7671 and relevant standards.
  
  

Collaboration & Coordination

• Liaise with clients, consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
• Attend design and project meetings.
  
  

Essential Skills & Experience

• Experience as an Electrical Engineer in construction or building services.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit and Amtech.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  
  

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or Building Services.
• 18th Edition.
• 2391 (desirable).
  
  

Desirable

• Experience with Primavera P6 or Procore is desirable.
