The Battery Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, and evaluation of battery and energy storage systems. This role contributes to research and development initiatives, supports product innovation, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and efficient power solutions. The position requires deep technical expertise, strong analytical skills, and the ability to drive engineering excellence across multiple programs.
Responsibilities
Apply established engineering principles and practices to develop, design, modify, test, and evaluate electrical, electronic, mechanical, and system-level solutions
Lead design efforts for battery and energy storage systems across various applications
Review, analyze, and develop engineering specifications, standards, procedures, and technical documentation
Plan and execute testing and evaluation of systems, equipment, and components
Compile, analyze, and interpret test data to support design decisions and product improvements
Prepare and present technical reports, findings, and recommendations
Provide technical guidance on the operation, installation, modification, troubleshooting, and maintenance of equipment and systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and product development goals
Qualifications
Strong expertise in battery systems and energy storage technologies, including charging systems and performance optimization
Solid foundation in power system design and circuit analysis
Experience using electrical CAD tools and simulation software; familiarity with engineering programming tools is beneficial
Demonstrated experience in research and development environments, contributing to innovative engineering solutions
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Commitment to quality, documentation, and continuous improvement processes
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline
Minimum of 8+ years of relevant engineering experience in electrical, electronic, or systems engineering roles
Experience developing, designing, testing, and evaluating electrical or electronic systems and equipment
Experience preparing and presenting technical documentation and reports
Familiarity with industry standards and quality systems is beneficial
