Electrical Design Engineer, Quantum Hardware

Based in Southern California with locations in Malibu, Calabasas and Camarillo; HRL has been on the leading edge of technology, conducting pioneering research and advancing the state of the art. 

We are seeking a motivated and organized Electrical Engineer to join an existing integrated multi-disciplinary engineering team building advanced cryogenic test systems in support of HRL’s world-leading silicon quantum dot technologies. The individual will be responsible for the design, simulation, development, and testing of a wide variety of specialized electrical systems and components. The candidate will contribute to the analysis, design, and characterization of new hardware systems.

Essential Duties: 
Design, test, and integration of power, control, and analog/ RF electronics.
Perform electrical simulations using analog circuit modeling and RF design tools.
Evaluate system block performance with instrumentation, tools, and techniques including oscilloscopes, dynamic signal analyzers, spectrum analyzers, VNAs, SMUs.
Capture design requirements for electrical products.
Produce and review engineering documentation including process instructions, block diagrams, netlists, schematic diagrams, low-level drawings, and bills of materials.
Regularly coordinate with product development teams, internal & external manufacturing suppliers, and engineering specialists.

Required Skills: 
Proficient in circuit simulation and PCB design software.
Working knowledge of analog and mixed signal electronics circuits, electronic test equipment & techniques, and safety.
Must be able to generate, read, and interpret schematic diagrams and other design documents.
Exhibit excellent organization and creative problem solving skills.
Ability to work well in a creative team environment.
Possess strong communication skills.
Proficiency with basic computer skills (spreadsheets, presentations, etc.) 

Required Education:
Minimum of BS in Electrical Engineering or related field. Additional experience may be considered for more advanced positions.

Special Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship is required.  Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is required.

Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $96,800 - $118,600 + bonus + benefits.
