About the role

Sana Biotechnology is growing, and we are hiring new team members who believe in the potential of engineered cells as medicines, want to challenge the status quo, and lead with a desire to work on novel ideas. The EHS Specialist will report to the Head of EHS and serve as a site-embedded EHS professional, supporting day-to-day environmental, health, and safety activities at the Cambridge site. • Serve as a site EHS representative for committees and during inspections and audits, with support from Corporate EHS.
  • Coordinate with EHS vendors to support compliant service delivery at the site.
  • Maintain site EHS programs, policies, and training initiatives at the site level, and provide feedback and input to enterprise-wide program improvements
  • Conduct periodic gap assessments against Sana EHS corporate policies and applicable regulatory requirements; document findings, assess risk, and drive timely corrective and preventive actions to close identified gaps
  • Support global EHS compliance by executing permit, license, and reporting requirements and providing input to corporate tracking and governance processes.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives supporting EHS integration across R&D and GxP operations.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving regulations and ensure site readiness and compliance, including serving as the site EHS representative during inspections, audits, and regulatory interactions
  • Track and report site-level EHS metrics, trends, and leading indicators to support accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Provide site-level execution support for corporate safety programs, as requested.
