The EHS Co-op will support the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team by assisting with inspections, compliance programs, risk assessments, and safety initiatives. This position provides hands-on experience in workplace safety, environmental compliance, and regulatory training development. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing/operations environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct Risk Assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions (Primary).
Review and update Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s) – (Primary)
Perform Environmental Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Inspections to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Maintain organization in the OSS Room, including marking, labeling, and managing drums according to waste streams.
Assist with updating and creating GHS labels for products.
Support the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) Program, including updating and maintaining SDS's.
Use Compliance Quest to document, track, and follow up on safety and environmental activities.
Provide support with Workers’ Compensation case management, including tracking, reporting, and follow-up.
Assist in incident and injury investigations, documenting findings and helping to implement corrective actions.
Participate in the Safety Sign-Off Program, ensuring employees are properly trained and verified for specific tasks.
Contribute to the development of regulatory training, creating content and supporting training delivery.

Must be enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Interest in regulatory compliance, safety, and environmental sustainability.

DESIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:

Pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field.
1.5 years of remaining undergraduate studies.
Work at least 12 hours per week while school is in session.
Flexible work schedule to work around school schedule
Ability to flex up to 40 hours per week when school is not in session.
