Educational Therapy Tutor

About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Venice, CA.

Details:

• In-Person Tutoring in Venice, CA
• Schedule: 10 hours, 2 sessions a week for 1.25 hours
• Pay range is between $25 and $35

Ideal Candidate:

• Educational therapist or tutor with a strong background in educational therapy.
• Experienced supporting elementary students with dyslexia-like symptoms, auditory processing difficulties, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
• Skilled in structured literacy, phonemic awareness, phonics, reading fluency, comprehension, and early writing development.
• Comfortable using multisensory, visual, and hands-on instructional approaches.
• Patient, creative, and engaging, with the ability to motivate and build confidence.
• Able to provide repetition, consistent routines, and positive reinforcement.
• Comfortable conducting a required assessment to guide individualized instruction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized reading instruction targeting phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, fluency, and comprehension.
• Support writing development, including sentence formation, spelling, and early written expression.
• Use multisensory strategies (visual aids, games, manipulatives, movement-based activities) to address auditory processing challenges.
• Incorporate structured, engaging, and game-based learning to maintain motivation and attention.
• Reinforce foundational literacy skills at a PreK–Kindergarten level while working toward grade-level progress.
• Track progress and adjust instructional strategies based on assessment results and student response.
• Collaborate with the family to support consistency across learning environments.
