The Association of Test Preparation, Admissions, and Private Tutoring (TPAPT) is looking for a passionate Reading Therapist to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will work one-on-one with students who require reading intervention and support, using evidence-based strategies to enhance literacy skills.

Position: Reading Therapist

Location: On site at our learning center or remotely

Classification: Contract (1099)

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate

The Role:

  • Provide individualized instruction and support to students diagnosed with ASD1/ASD2
  • Utilize various assessment tools to identify specific areas of need for each student.
  • Develop and implement personalized literacy plans that address students' unique challenges.
  • Monitor student progress and make adjustments to instruction as needed.
  • Collaborate with parents and educators to communicate student progress and strategies for support.
  • Create a positive and encouraging learning environment that motivates students to achieve their reading goals.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Reading Education, Special Education, or Speech Language Pathology
  • Certification as a Reading Specialist or similar credential is a plus.
  • Experience working with students diagnosed with ASD1/ASD2
  • Strong understanding of reading intervention strategies and evidence-based practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to build rapport and encourage students to enhance their reading skills.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including after-school and weekend sessions.
