Reports to The Editorial Manager

Euromonitor International is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Editor to join our Cape Town Editorial team. Reporting to the Editorial Manager, you will ensure the accuracy, clarity, and quality of market research content, with a focus on editing and fact-checking AI-assisted reports. You’ll refine tone and flow, verify data and claims, and correct inaccuracies or inconsistencies (“hallucinations”), ensuring every report meets our high publishing standards. The role involves working closely with fellow editors, research teams, and technical teams to meet deadlines and provide feedback that improves both content and AI workflows.

Requirements

Key responsibilities

Edit, proofread, and fact-check AI-assisted market research reports for accuracy, clarity, style, and formatting.

  • Verify data, statistics, and claims against trusted sources; correct errors and inconsistencies.
  • Refine tone, structure, and readability to meet Euromonitor standards.
  • Collaborate with Editorial, Project Delivery and Insights teams to resolve content issues.
  • Work with the Editorial Manager to manage workload and deadlines.
  • Provide feedback to technical teams to help improve AI-assisted content quality and workflow.

 

Candidate Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree in English or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ editing experience, ideally in market research, business intelligence, or data-heavy publishing.
  • Excellent written communication, research, and fact-checking skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and editorial judgement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with editorial and AI-assisted tools.
