As a Content Review Editor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and integrity of cutting-edge research published in Taylor & Francis journals. You will manage the peer review process, validate content, and collaborate with international experts, authors, editors, and suppliers.

This role is ideal for individuals with a strong scientific background, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for supporting the peer review process. You will join a dynamic team of Content Review Editors and report to the Team Lead – Content Review.

What you will be doing:

  • Peer Review Management:
    • Oversee the peer review process for assigned journals, ensuring adherence to speed and quality targets.
    • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless reviewer selection and manuscript progression.
  • Reviewer Selection:
    • Research, identify, and invite suitable reviewers using internal and external databases.
    • Monitor and improve the reviewer selection process, ensuring ethical compliance and quality standards.
  • Desk Assessment:
    • Evaluate submissions for adherence to journal scope, ethical guidelines, and quality standards.
    • Assess image quality and address any related concerns.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    • Liaise effectively with authors, reviewers, academic editors, supplier partners and internal teams to address queries and ensure smooth manuscript processing.
    • Provide empathetic and professional customer service to manage expectations.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify bottlenecks in the peer review process and implement solutions to improve efficiency and turnaround times.
    • Analyse data and provide actionable insights to enhance workflows.
    • Develop, implement, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) regularly to ensure alignment with best practices and continuous process improvements.
  • Ethical Compliance:
    • Stay updated on industry trends and ethical publication practices, ensuring compliance across all processes.
  • Reporting & Analysis:
    • Prepare reports and presentations to keep stakeholders informed about progress against KPIs.

What are we looking for:

Essential:

  • A postgraduate qualification in Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, Chemistry, Physical Sciences, or Engineering. Candidates with postgraduate qualifications in other disciplines are welcome to apply, provided they have relevant journal management experience and skills.
  • Understanding of academic publishing and peer review processes.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with excellent command of English spelling and grammar.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks to deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.

Desirable:

  • Prior experience in academic publishing, manuscript desk assessment or peer review processes.
  • Experience in process-driven workflows and customer-facing roles.
  • Familiarity with online submission platforms like ScholarOne™ or Editorial Manager®.
  • An interest in academic publishing and awareness of market trends.

When you’re not spending time together in one of our offices or other workplaces – like at conference – you get the flexibility and support to work from home or remotely.

The successful candidate will be able to utilise our balanced working model. We ask that candidates live within a commutable distance of our Delhi office to ensure that as a balanced worker they can make it to our office location to collaborate as required. There is an expectation for a minimum of 3 days per week in-person time.​
