About the team
We provide data-informed solutions to attract, retain, develop and inspire eBay’s most important asset – our People. Our scope and skills include data science, data engineering, operational reporting, consulting, and designing & building dashboards. We share a common passion for data and empowering business leaders with insights.
About the role
We are looking for a motivated People Analytics Intern to analyze workforce data and provide insights that drive strategic HR decisions. This role is ideal for candidates with a passion for data science, statistics and human resources who want to apply analytical techniques to solve real-world people-related challenges. You'll work alongside some of the best and the brightest HR and analytics talent in the industry.
What you will bring:
Insight. Be able to draw meaningful insights from HR and workforce data, and help inform business decisions with data-driven thinking
Collaboration. Have the ability to partner effectively with HR teams and business leaders. Translate complex analyses into actionable recommendations for stakeholders across all levels.
Tech Savvy. Proficient in data analytics tools and techniques, with initiative to expand your knowledge through research & training
Communication. Ability to present complex analyses and insights effectively in simple terms to both technical and non-technical audiences.
We need:
Curiosity. Strong analytical skills to dive into people data and identify trends, patterns, and root causes
Analysis. Able to Analyze workforce data to uncover trends and insights related to employee engagement, retention, diversity, and performance.
Rigor. Able to apply statistical knowledge to make recommendations on workforce planning and talent management
Data Visualization. Familiarity with visualization tools such as Tableau, Excel, or similar platforms is a bonus
Basic Qualifications
Currently enrolled as a full-time student, have 0-3 years of relevant work experience working towards a Bachelors, Masters in an accredited university within the United States graduating December 2026 - Summer 2028.
Pursuing a degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Economics, Psychology, Statistics, or a related field.
Strong ability to translate data insights into actionable recommendations.
Experience with data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel and Google Sheets).
Familiarity with R is a plus.
Familiar with research methods and an interest in applying those skills to organizational data.
Good understanding of data visualization principles and techniques.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee data with integrity..

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California is expected in the range below:
$2,480 - $3,600 Bi-weekly (Every two weeks).
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience.
