About the Role
As a Driver Operations Manager, you will own end-to-end driver operations across both company-owned and vendor car pools. You will ensure strong driver supply, high utilization, disciplined operations, and healthy driver economics while maintaining strict SLA performance. This role solves the core challenge of balancing driver satisfaction and operational reliability at scale. You will work closely with fleet partners, cost controllers, SOP teams, and senior operations leaders.
What You Will Do
Lead and manage end-to-end driver lifecycle for company car pool (lead generation, onboarding, training, car assignment, discipline, repossession, and termination).
Oversee vendor car pool performance, track SLA adherence (payments, retention ≥6 months, utilization ≥95%, accident rates), and escalate non-compliance.
Design and implement driver retention, engagement, and corrective action programs based on income trends, utilization data, and performance metrics.
Analyze operational and financial data to monitor driver income, rental collection, accident frequency, and engagement ROI.
Collaborate with fleet partners to improve training standards, reduce accidents, and maintain rental discipline.
Develop, update, and enforce SOPs in coordination with the SOP team to ensure operational compliance.
Manage driver engagement budgets and coordinate with cost controllers to ensure disciplined and accountable spending.
What You Will Need
10+ years of experience managing taxi or ride-hailing driver operations, preferably overseeing car pools.
Proven experience in leading driver acquisition, onboarding, engagement, discipline, and retention programs.
Strong understanding of driver behavior, economics, scheduling, and leave systems within fleet operations.
Ability to analyze operational metrics, cost structures, and utilization data using Excel or similar tools.
Experience managing vendor or fleet partner performance against defined SLAs.
Strong documentation skills with the ability to design structured proposals, SOPs, and corrective programs.
Comfortable engaging directly with drivers, speaking their language, and balancing empathy with accountability.
