Hello Neighbor is seeking Drivers to safely transport clients and materials in Hello Neighbor’s 15-passenger van or other official, company- provided vehicle. The Hello Neighbor Driver will be responsible for scheduling and communicating pickup and drop off details with Hello Neighbor staff and clients; transporting clients to medical appointments, job interviews, airport pickups, Hello Neighbor events, and more; and assisting with transporting housing setup items, event supplies, and other deliveries as needed.
We are looking for someone who is respectful to people of all backgrounds and who is professional and timely. The Driver should be patient and able to stay calm and safe while driving across the Pittsburgh area. This role will be a flexible, as-needed schedule that includes working evenings and weekends.
The Driver will be an important part of our team, helping immigrant, refugee, and migrant families access Hello Neighbor’s programs and services.
Founded in 2017, Hello Neighbor empowers refugees and immigrants through community connections, helping them move from arrival to belonging with dignity, cultural sensitivity, and meaningful support. Our work is organized across three departments—Education & Community Empowerment, Health & Stabilization, and Employment—each running programs designed to meet the unique needs of the communities we serve. In addition to our local work, we lead a National Network of grassroots organizations across the U.S., united by a shared commitment to supporting refugee and immigrant families and inspiring long-term change.
This is an in-house regular, part time - flexible, non-exempt position at our Pittsburgh, PA office in Larimer. Candidates must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
Reports To: Assistant Director of Finance
Key Responsibilities
Transports participants to and from program activities using the provided vehicle (Hello Neighbor’s 2021 Ford T350 15-passenger van); locations include client homes, the Hello Neighbor offices, airport, medical facilities, potential employers, and more.
Loads and unloads materials, goods, and equipment between various destinations as assigned
Installs appropriate car seats for safe transportation of infants and youth
Communicates with participants and staff about pickup times and locations
Responds to messages and requests from staff in a timely manner
Follows emergency and safety procedures
Keeps records of vehicle use and reports maintenance needs
Adheres to Hello Neighbor’s confidentiality guidelines and ensures the appropriate handling of sensitive information
Other duties as assigned within the scope of position expectations
Preferred Qualifications
Qualified adult, 21 years or older
1+ years prior professional driving experience
Demonstrated driving experience in Pittsburgh area
Valid PA Driver License and insurance
Clean driving record
Experience using GPS Software and mapping systems
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Good time management
Team player who is kind, polite, and respectful to people from all backgrounds
Ability to read and communicate in basic English
Able to make good relationships with clients, staff, and partners
Flexibility and ability to work nights and weekends

Reliable, responsible, and hardworking
Available to work a non-traditional schedule including nights and weekends
Able to effectively work with refugee and immigrant communities
Good communication skills
Ability to take direction and work independently, as well as collaboratively
Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
Living migration experience and fluency in other languages a plus
Additional Details
This is a part time - flexible, non-exempt, in-house position at our Pittsburgh office in the Larimer neighborhood
Clearances required: Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Clearance, Mandatory Reporter and/or PSEA training may also be required depending on job requirements
Valid driver’s license required, personal vehicle, and proof of insurance are required; MVR records will be required
