Downstreaming Team Lead (f/m/d)

Your mission

Contribute to aevoloop’s material innovation by developing scalable purification processes that transform sustainable chemistry into products.

• Develop a downstreaming concept for dicarboxylic acids on a pilot scale. 

• Lead the research team that develops a scalable purification process for innovative, sustainable chemical building blocks used as feedstock for our novel polyester-based plastics.

• Develop a R&D strategy starting from lab scale screening tests and external technology validations at CDMOs to eventually build up an end-to-end purification process in-house.

• Define KPIs such as input and output material specifications together with your R&D colleagues up- and downstream. Use these KPIs to steer your process development.

• Use process simulations and techno-economical analyses to find the best compromise for an economically viable process.

• Use your creativity and expertise in purification of complex mixtures in combination with a safety oriented working style to establish a downstreaming process on a 10 kg batch scale.

Your profile

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related field, concluded with a PhD (or Diploma) in this field.

• You have at least 3 years of industrial experience in process development and process upscaling in the chemical industry.

• You are an expert in purification processes like distillation, crystallization, membrane filtration, extraction, etc.

• Proven track record in leadership, project management andsuccessful implementation of processes/syntheses

• Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken); German language skills are advantageous.

• You bring a hands-on mindset, structure your work efficiently, and collaborate seamlessly across disciplines – even under the dynamics of a fast-paced start-up environment.

• Please note that this role is currently fully based on-site and does not offer hybrid or remote work options.
