DME Specialist

We are seeking a knowledgeable and patient-focused DME Specialist to support our growing sleep medicine operations. This role will primarily focus on CPAP compliance education and patient communication, while also assisting with administrative and coordination tasks related to sleep testing and durable medical equipment (DME) workflows. 

The ideal candidate is comfortable speaking with patients, understands sleep therapy and compliance requirements, and can balance patient-facing responsibilities with operational support. 

Key Responsibilities 

Patient Communication & CPAP Compliance 

• Communicate with patients regarding CPAP usage, compliance requirements, and troubleshooting 

• Educate patients on the importance of therapy adherence and address common concerns 

• Document patient interactions accurately in the system 

• Coordinate follow-ups related to compliance and therapy progress 

DME & Sleep Operations Support 

• Schedule sleep studies, sleep tests, and related appointments 

• Schedule CPAP setup appointments and coordinate equipment delivery 

• Process DME resupply orders accurately and timely 

• Assist with counseling patients on equipment use and next steps (non-clinical) 

• Support administrative workflows related to DME and sleep services 

Qualifications 

• Experience as a DME Specialist, Sleep Technician, or Respiratory Therapist preferred 

• Strong understanding of CPAP therapy and compliance requirements 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

• Comfortable handling both patient-facing and administrative tasks 

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks 

Preferred Background 

• Prior experience in sleep medicine or DME operations 

• Familiarity with EHR systems and DME workflows 

• Experience coordinating sleep tests and CPAP setups
