Divisional Assistant Superintendent

About the Role
We are seeking a Divisional Assistant Superintendent to support field operations involving emergency derailments, specialty lifting, load adjustment/transfer, car repair, and track maintenance. This role provides leadership to field supervisors, ensures safe and efficient project execution, and works closely with crews, customers, and regulatory agencies.
This position requires a highly skilled operator with strong trailer experience and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues in the field or over the phone.
Key Responsibilities
Assign and oversee field projects handled by Supervisors.
Monitor schedules, budgets, and customer expectations.
Identify potential issues and coordinate solutions to keep projects on track.
Conduct regular site visits for support and oversight.
Reinforce safety, quality, and DOT compliance across all activities.
Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to Supervisors and field employees.
Assist with forecasts for staffing, equipment, and resource planning.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and regulatory agencies.
Participate in hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
Ensure accurate submission of project reports, payroll data, labor hours, and related documentation.
Support equipment readiness, maintenance planning, and coordination with shop personnel.
Attend customer meetings, industry events, and opportunities to support business development.
Respond to emergency service calls and provide hands-on support as needed.
