About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Dispatcher plays a key role in supporting daily transit operations. This position assists with vehicle switch-outs and operational coordination, in addition to completing scheduled driving shifts as required.

The role requires the ability to work effectively across multiple areas of the operation, both on the road and in an office environment. The Dispatcher must have a strong understanding of administrative processes and demonstrate the ability to work across multiple computer platforms, including payroll systems, internal reporting tools, and scheduling software.

This position is well-suited for a highly organized, adaptable individual who thrives in a fast-paced operational setting and enjoys balancing customer service with operational problem-solving.

Shift Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday Evenings

Hourly Rate: $24.50 or $25.50 if you have a B License

Primary Responsibilities

  • Dispatch and coordinate vehicles and drivers in real time to ensure service continuity, schedule adherence, and effective response to operational changes
  • Provide ongoing customer service and operational support to drivers, acting as a central point of communication to resolve service-related issues efficiently
  • Manage route changes and service adjustments as required, ensuring drivers and relevant stakeholders are informed promptly to minimize service disruptions
  • Coordinate charter bookings and respond to customer inquiries by preparing accurate quotes, scheduling vehicles and drivers, and confirming service details
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor to support the smooth operation of daily transportation services

Requirements

The ideal candidate will posses the following qualifications that include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • High school diploma or equivalent — post-secondary education is considered an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and other standard software tools used for reporting, scheduling, and communication
  • Valid G-class driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract and strong awareness of road safety practices
  • B Class License is an asset
  • Clear and current criminal record check — including Vulnerable Sector Screening required
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service, with the ability to remain calm, courteous, and solution-focused in high-pressure or time-sensitive situations
  • Professional and courteous telephone manner, with strong verbal communication skills and the ability to relay information clearly and accurately
  • Well-developed organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and handle multiple responsibilities with attention to detail
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team and interact professionally with clients, staff, and external partners
