With implementation skills honed from decades of restructuring experience, A&M’s Healthcare & Life Sciences (“HLS”) helps CEOs and boards effect enterprise-wide change, restructure portfolios, manage shareholder activism, and provide objective evaluation. HLS serves clients in Pharmaceuticals & Life Sciences, Payers, Providers and Regulators. Due to high growth, opportunities exist for an Operations Transformation Director in the London office. 

 

The successful appointee will be responsible for contributing to the profile and reputation of A&M, specifically in Healthcare and Life Sciences sector. You will reflect the operational distinctiveness that is A&M; a business savvy, solution focused business entrepreneur who is focused on having an impact, determined to make a difference and not afraid to challenge the status-quo.

  • Healthcare and Life Sciences Operations Transformation
  • End-to-end operations management and improvement
  • Healthcare and Life Sciences M&A (Carve-outs, CDD, ODD)
  • Digital (Cognitive Supply Chain, Supply Chain Analytics)
  • Regulatory (Compliance, QA, QC, market access)
  • Sales and Operational Planning / Integrated Business Planning (S&OP/ IBP)
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
  • External Supply Organisations / CDMOs
  • Cost reduction and improvement
  • Footprint / network transformation
  • Distribution network optimization
  • Good Manufacturing and Distribution Practice (GMP/GDP)
  • Trade route / transport mode changes
  • Cold chain distribution
  • Clinical trial improvements
  • Sourcing and procurement transformation
  • Direct/ indirect spend reduction
  • Maintenance and Repair improvement
  • Performance Improvement, Lean/ 6-sigma
  • Technical Operations and Transfers
  • Direct delivery models / home care, personalized medicines supply
  • Generics, Biologics, Cell and Gene Therapies

 

The role: 

  • Initial rapid diagnostic into a company's immediate and future major operational issues, product profitability, cost base, manufacturing processes and options for performance improvement
  • Gathering and analyse data, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing recommendations for presentation to client management
  • Developing and implementing a new operating plan/structures to improve the business operational performance

 

Requirements for this position: 

The successful candidate will have a blend of operational and commercial skills and an entrepreneurial approach. They will be a team-orientated individual with excellent financial skills and a track record of success. 

 

Essential: 

  • Extensive knowledge (c.8+ years’ experience) of Healthcare and Life Sciences Operations Transformation (ideally in a client-site focused delivery model) within a top tier strategy firm, leading specialist, ‘Big 4’ and/or niche advisory firm and experience leading holistic performance improvement projects
  • Recent, relevant experience in international Healthcare and Life Sciences operations ideally within PE, Pharma, Hospitals, Manufacturing or business services
  • An understanding of healthcare operations, manufacturing processes and global distribution networks within FTSE 250 sized clients, and be able to use innovative technology to resolve problems and implement business solutions
  • Strong analytical skills and deep dive analysis combined with being a persuasive and effective communicator who can engage effectively with leadership teams in pressure situations.
  • An ability and willingness to travel (potentially from Day 1) to client sites, across the UK & European regions, at short notice as part of the working week
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from accredited university preferably in healthcare subjects, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain or another relevant subject.
