Summary of Job:

The Director, Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) is a field-based, customer-facing role primarily focused on the management of a field based TLL team. This role will lead the team tasked with the identification and development of enduring relationships with current and emerging key opinion leaders (KOLs) within the U.S. dermatology and immunology community.  The Director, TLL will also ensure collaborative working relationships across leaders of certain internal and external functions e.g., Regional Sales Directors and home office on projects with all HCPs, Mid-levels/Community Practices.  The TLL role will be a critical member of the Rocatinlimab brand marketing team while working closely with the other field professionals, including but not limited to Field Sales, RSMs, and MSLs, and ensure adherence and collaboration, within approved SOPs. In addition, the Director, TLL will work with home office-based colleagues in Marketing, Advocacy, Medical Affairs, Sales, and Market Access. Lastly, the Director, TLL will implement a National Peer to Peer Strategy and Engagement plan in partnership with the Brand Team and cross-functional stakeholders.

Essential Functions:

The Director, TLL will identify and establish appropriate engagement opportunities with product advocates, as well as regional and national influencers to help educate and provide solutions for patients. The TLL team will monitor Key Opinion Leaders’ in academic and community practices treatment patterns via sales data, publications, presentations, within our labeled indications, syndicate this information with appropriate corporate and field-based colleagues, and assist in developing education and other commercial activities.

Key Deliverables will include:

  • Identify and develop regional and national Key Opinion Leaders across the Dermatology and Immunology market
  • Help establish Kyowa Kirin as a leader in the US Dermatology space
  • Uncover gaps/ needs in patient care and HCP practice knowledge and operations
  • Continually monitor the evolution of the dermatology practice landscape and collaborate to build strategy for new emerging practice models and market trends
  • Serve as a conduit between the Home Office and the KOL community
  • Work closely with marketing to strategically develop and coordinate appropriate engagement and promotional opportunities with identified HCPs 
  • Work closely with Thought leaders to obtain feedback to be considered in the development of marketing strategies and provide field-based intelligence to internal stakeholders at regular intervals
  • Identifies and develops KOLs within territory to participate in Speakers Programs as well as other commercial projects (product theaters, webinars, print materials, video, training, podcasts, ad boards, etc.)
  • Support commercial advisory board activities
  • Coordinate closely with the sales team to ensure alignment with conference OL engagement plan as well as other OL/account engagement
  • Provide customer and market insights back to the marketing team and provide input into P2P development, advisory boards, and strategy
  • Partner with the HCP Marketing team to develop advisory board strategy, content, advisory recommendations, and attend advisory boards as appropriate
  • Provide insights summary from key congresses to the marketing team

Scientific Congress Management:

  • Manages Regional and National congresses serving as the primary contact to the home office for budgeting, contracting, logistics, attendance, pull-through and KOL meetings.

Center of Excellent (COE):

  • Works with cross-functional teams to develop and implement COE engagement plans.
  • Facilitate interaction of senior leadership with regional and national KOLs.
  • Support multidisciplinary team development with TLL.

Job Requirements: Education

Bachelor’s degree in Life Science (or equivalent) required.

Advanced Degree (preferred)

Experience:

  •  10+ years of marketing and/or sales experience within advanced biologics or specialty therapeutics; recent dermatology experience highly preferred
  •  10+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech experience across one or more of the following: field sales leadership and/or product marketing. Dermatology or immunology experience strongly preferred
  •  Proven people leadership experience required, with a track record of building, developing, and leading high-performing teams
  •  Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive alignment toward a shared vision and business objectives
  •  Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively tailor messaging to varied audiences and stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in thought leader engagement, regional marketing, sales, or sales leadership
  • Strong relationship building skills, with proven ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with OLs
  • Ability to exercise strong decision-making skills and live up to the highest ethical standards.
  • Excellent organization, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build high performing teams, productive partnerships and collaborate effectively in a matrix organization.

Technical Skills

Proficient in M.S. Office Suite.

Physical Demands:

Normal office environment with prolonged sitting and extensive computer work.  This position will require up to 60% domestic and international travel. 

Working Conditions:

A willingness to attend customer meetings on weeknights and weekends 30% of the time.

Located near a hub airport is recommended. Role will cover the United States

The anticipated salary for this position will be $230,000 to $.270,000  The actual salary offered for this role at commencement of employment may vary based on several factors including but not limited to relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, education (including applicable licenses and certifications, job-based knowledge, location, and other business and organizational needs.
