Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated professional to join our team in our Korea office, located in Seoul. The successful candidate may report directly to the VP of Global Tax. This role will collaborate closely with both global and regional stakeholders to support strategic tax initiatives across the organization.

 

What You Will Do

Project-Based Tax Advisory

  • Support VP of Tax in leading cross-border tax planning initiatives, including M&A, restructuring, financing etc.
  • Analyze tax implications of international business operations and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Perform scenario-based tax modeling to assess implications across different operational and structural options
  • Collaborate with legal, finance, and business teams to assess tax risks and opportunities in new markets or transactions.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in international tax laws (e.g., OECD Pillar 2, BEPS and U.S. tax reforms) and assess business impact.

 

Tax Provision and Compliance Support

  • Support global quarterly and annual tax provisions under US GAAP.
  • Coordinate with regional business stakeholders and external advisors to ensure accurate reporting of foreign tax positions.
  • Provide oversight or support for foreign income tax filings, including coordination with local advisors.
  • Review international tax returns and related disclosures for accuracy and completeness.

 

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Act as a key tax contact for regional finance teams, external advisors, and internal business units.
  • Support internal audits and tax authority inquiries related to international tax matters.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects involving treasury, legal, and accounting.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax, Law, or related field; CPA, CTA, or equivalent preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in international tax, preferably in a multinational corporation, law firm and/or Big 4 firm.
  • Strong understanding of global tax principles, including OECD guidelines, U.S. international tax rules, and local tax regimes.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Prior experience or working knowledge in transfer pricing and/or US outbound tax regime are considered an asset.
