Our client is hiring a Senior Director of Technology & Digital Transformation to lead the evolution of its technology ecosystem and support the company’s next phase of growth. This is a hands-on technology leadership role inside a logistics and freight forwarding business, focused on improving real-world operational workflows across shipments, finance, and client experience.
You will be responsible for shaping the systems, architecture, and integrations that support logistics workflows across operations, finance, and client experience.
The company is currently undergoing a digital transformation, including transitioning from a legacy TMS to a modern system and further developing its Salesforce-centered environment.
You will work directly with the CEO and leadership team, not as a layer of management, but as a strategic and operational partner. Own and improve end-to-end operational workflows, not just systems, across logistics execution, tracking, and customer delivery. Your focus will be on building scalable, reliable, and effective systems that drive measurable business outcomes.
This is a hands-on leadership role in a lean environment, suited for someone who is comfortable operating across both strategy and execution.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the company’s technology roadmap.
- Identify and implement opportunities to apply automation, AI, and data-driven decision support across operational workflows.
- Own and evolve system architecture to support operational efficiency and scalability.
- Design and manage integrations across systems that support logistics operations, finance, and customer workflows.
- Lead digital transformation initiatives across the organization.
- Drive end-to-end change management for system implementations and enhancements.
- Develop and execute strategies to ensure strong user adoption across operational teams.
- Ensure systems are reliable, secure, and capable of supporting business growth.
- Lead and mentor a small internal technology team.
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, finance, and leadership.
- Occasionally engage with clients on technical capabilities and system-driven improvements.
What This Role Is NOT
- Not a CIO or enterprise IT leadership role
- Not focused on infrastructure, cybersecurity, or governance
- Not a pure strategy or oversight position
- Not limited to managing vendors or internal IT teams
The ideal candidate is someone who has built how a logistics company actually runs, not just managed the technology behind it.
- 7-12+ years of experience in technology leadership, digital transformation, or business systems within operational environments.
- Strong experience with enterprise SaaS ecosystems, systems architecture, and integrations.
- Experience working within Salesforce, primarily from an integration and systems perspective (not pure administration or development)
- Experience Leading Technology Transformation / Digital Transformation in lean environments.
- Demonstrated success driving change management and user adoption across teams.
- Experience designing and managing integrations across multiple systems.
- Experience working within logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain environments.
- Exposure to international freight operations, such as ocean, air, and multi-leg shipments.
- Experience designing, building, or improving systems within logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain operations
- Strong ability to translate business needs into scalable system solutions.
- Proven ability to operate in a lean, hands-on environment.
