This is a contracted position for 6+ months.  This position offers $95-$100.00 per hour. Travel 10-15%.

Job Summary

Strategic healthcare revenue cycle and information technology leader with deep expertise in Epic systems design, implementation, and optimization. Responsible for driving enterprise-wide revenue integrity, improving financial performance, leading full lifecycle Epic implementations, and aligning clinical, operational, and billing workflows to ensure clean claims, reduced denials, and sustainable operational efficiency. Serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, overseeing cross-functional teams, governance structures, and large-scale transformation initiatives across hospitals, physician groups, and ambulatory networks

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute revenue cycle strategies that improve margin, cash flow, and operational performance
  • Serve as subject matter expert and advisor on Epic Revenue Cycle and Access systems
  • Establish governance models that align clinical operations, finance, and IT

Epic Implementation & Optimization

  • Lead full lifecycle Epic implementations, including Professional Billing, Hospital Billing, Prelude, Cadence, Single Billing Office, and Ambulatory modules
  • Direct workflow design, system build standards, testing, and upgrade initiatives
  • Optimize charge capture, charge router, charge review workqueues, and claim edits
  • Oversee Community Connect deployments and multi-site rollouts

Revenue Integrity & Financial Performance

  • Improve clean claim rates and reduce denials through workflow redesign and system automation
  • Analyze KPIs, including A/R days, workqueue volumes, charge lag, and denial trends
  • Implement charge review edits and billing controls to ensure compliance and maximize reimbursement
  • Develop revenue optimization plans for ambulatory, hospital, and specialty services

Operations & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor analysts, project managers, and operational teams
  • Hire, train, and develop revenue cycle and IT staff
  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives between clinical departments, finance, and IT
  • Manage vendor relationships and third-party integrations

Project & Change Management

  • Manage complex, multi-site healthcare IT projects with defined timelines and budgets
  • Develop replicable implementation guides and standardized build practices
  • Lead change management efforts to increase adoption and operational alignment
  • Mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies

Compliance & Regulatory

  • Ensure adherence to payer rules, CMS requirements, and billing regulations
  • Support coding integrity, documentation compliance, and audit readiness
  • Maintain master file data integrity across facilities and service areas

Qualifications

Required

  • 10+ years of progressive healthcare revenue cycle leadership 
  • Extensive Epic certification and hands-on experience, including:
    • Prelude
    • Resolute Professional Billing
    • Resolute Hospital Billing
    • Single Billing Office
    • EpicCare Ambulatory
  • Proven experience leading enterprise Epic implementations and optimizations
  • Strong knowledge of hospital and professional billing operations
  • Demonstrated success in improving financial outcomes and operational efficiencies
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field

Preferred

  • Experience with academic medical centers and multi-specialty groups
  • Community Connect implementations
  • Revenue Integrity or Revenue Optimization program leadership
  • Large team management experience
