Diamond Foundry is seeking a Director of Purchasing & Supply Chain to lead strategic sourcing and supplier network development across the Eurozone. This role will drive the setup and scaling of mechanical commodity procurement operations in a high-growth manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate brings deep technical sourcing expertise in machining and precision manufacturing, strong leadership experience, and a proven track record of building supplier networks and scalable procurement processes from prototype through mass production.
This role requires 30% of travel
Responsibilities
Operations & Supplier Set-up: Lead the end-to-end "Greenfield" setup of our supplier network. This includes identifying, auditing, and onboarding high-precision partners (CNC, casting, molding) and establishing the operational workflows required to move from prototype to mass production.
Commodity Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive sourcing strategy for mechanical and machining commodities, ensuring long-term scalability across the Eurozone.
Startup Agility: Build supply chain processes from the ground up, moving from manual "firefighting" to scalable, automated systems without losing the speed required for rapid prototyping.
Global Supplier experience - Candidate must have deep experience in WW sourcing operations, working with suppliers in euro zone and Asia strongly preferred
Contract Negotiation: Lead high-stakes negotiations for multi-million Euro frameworks, focusing on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), lead-time reduction, and payment terms.
Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing supply chain team. You will be responsible for defining roles, setting KPIs, and fostering a culture of technical excellence and accountability.
Requirements
Educational Background: A University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field is mandatory.
Experience: Minimum 7- 10 years of progressive experience in Procurement or Supply Chain Management, specifically within manufacturing or industrial sectors.
Management: Proven experience in people management is required. You must have a track record of leading teams through organizational growth or change.
Commodity Expertise: Deep technical understanding of machining processes, material sciences, and European manufacturing standards.
Language: Full professional fluency in English is required.
