RII is seeking a committed individual to be our Director of Production and Hardware Manufacturing with the drive to solve unique and challenging problems for our various US government customers. Our SIGINT/EW team is looking for an individual to lead efforts in prototyping, production, supply chain, and field support. Individuals will be expected to be able to source new parts and integration pieces, track deliveries, track incoming inventory, and have knowledge about prototyping and manufacturing processes to support one of RII’s most successful core values, Get s#it done.
The Director of Product Manufacturing will be responsible for overseeing the entire product manufacturing process, ensuring high-quality hardware components are designed and produced efficiently, and managing the supply chain to optimize production and distribution. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical and managerial expertise with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Supply Chain Management:
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors.
Analyze and optimize the supply chain for cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and reliability.
Implement inventory management systems and tools to forecast demand and maintain optimal stock levels.
Conduct regular supply chain audits to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
Address and mitigate risks associated with the supply chain, including supplier issues and transportation logistics.
Hardware Component Design:
Collaborate with engineering teams to understand product design requirements and translate them into manufacturing processes.
Evaluate and select appropriate manufacturing technologies and equipment.
Develop and execute manufacturing specifications, standards, and process controls.
Oversee the design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) to ensure products are easy and cost-effective to manufacture.
Conduct product testing to verify manufacturing quality and performance, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Hardware Configuration Management:
Develop and implement hardware configuration management policies and procedures.
Ensure accurate documentation and recording of hardware configurations.
Manage changes to hardware configurations and oversee configuration history.
Work with technical support teams to resolve configuration-related issues.
Ensure hardware configurations are aligned with product lifecycle and customer requirements
Product Delivery:
Develop strategies to ensure timely and efficient production and delivery of products to the market.
Work with logistics and distribution teams to streamline the flow of goods from manufacturing to customer.
Analyze delivery performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to reduce lead times and increase reliability.
Ensure all delivery-related documentation, such as shipping labels and tracking information, is accurate and up-to-date.
Management of Field Support Representatives:
Oversee a team of field support representatives, ensuring they provide high-quality customer service and technical support.
Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of field support personnel.
Establish clear communication channels between the manufacturing and field support teams for efficient problem resolution.
WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
A Masters in supply chain management or equivalent experience.
Experience with inventory management and tracking systems
Experience with protecting sensitive hardware in harsh environments including cold, heat, and salt water.
3+ years of experience in manufacturing small form factor electronics
3+ years with experience working with rapid prototyping
Ability to obtain a US security clearance
EVEN BETTER
Knowledge with software defined radios
Experience with CAD modeling
Experience with a variety of prototyping equipment including, 3D printing and Laser cutting
Understanding of different materials and coatings for specific applications, such as impact or salt water corrosion.
Active U.S. security clearance
