Director of Product - Platform (all genders)

We are looking for a Director of Product - Platform (full-time) to join our team in Berlin.

As Director of Product Platform, you will lead multiple product teams responsible for Babbel’s core platforms, including AI Content Creation, Content Management, Messaging Systems, Customer Support Tools, Identity, and Mobile Platform foundations.

Your role is to ensure Babbel’s platforms are scalable, reliable, and future-ready—empowering product teams to move faster while maintaining high quality and technical excellence.

You will:

• Own the product vision and strategy for Babbel’s platform ecosystem, including AI-driven content creation.
• Lead and develop a group of Product Managers working on complex, tech-heavy platform domains.
• Partner closely with Engineering and Data leadership to deliver scalable, production-ready systems.
• Balance long-term platform health with short-term product and business needs.
• Define success metrics and use data to guide prioritization and investment decisions.
• Improve collaboration and ways of working across Product, Engineering, Content, and Support teams.

You have:

• 10+ years experience in platform product management, ideally across multiple teams or domains.
• Strong background in building and scaling technical products and infrastructure-heavy systems.
• Prior experience with AI and/or machine learning products, and understanding how to bring them into production.
• Proven people leadership skills, including coaching and developing senior product leaders.
• Strategic mindset paired with strong execution and decision-making.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder alignment skills.
