Role Overview

Patient Funding Alternatives (PFA) is on a mission to remove financial barriers to care for working families by helping providers enroll eligible patients into Health Insurance Premium Payment (HIPP) programs. The Director of Product Management plays a critical leadership role in shaping, delivering, and scaling products that sit at the intersection of patient advocacy, healthcare finance, and technology.

This role owns the end-to-end product lifecycle from strategy and discovery through delivery, launch, and continuous optimization ensuring our products drive measurable outcomes for patients, providers, and payers. The Director partners closely with Information Technology, Operations, Client Services, Sales, and Analytics to deliver high-impact, scalable solutions aligned with PFA’s growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the product vision and multi-year roadmap aligned with PFA’s mission, strategic priorities, and growth objectives.
  • Translate company strategy, regulatory requirements, and market insights into clear product initiatives, outcomes, and success metrics.
  • Lead discovery efforts to deeply understand patient, provider, and internal user needs, using qualitative and quantitative insights to inform decisions.
  • Partner with Information Technology to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions using modern Agile product development practices.
  • Define, prioritize, and manage features, epics, and user stories with a strong focus on business impact, usability, and operational efficiency.
  • Establish product operating rhythms, ceremonies, and governance that balance speed, quality, and compliance in a healthcare environment.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations and Strategic Account Management to ensure products are practical, adoptable, and drive real-world outcomes.
  • Work with Go-To-Market teams to ensure clear product positioning, launch readiness, and enablement for Sales and Client-facing teams.
  • Use data and analytics to define KPIs, monitor performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive continuous optimization.
  • Evaluate build vs. buy decisions and manage relationships with technology partners and vendors to maximize ROI.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing product management team, fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, and customer empathy.

What Success Looks Like

  • Clear, outcome-driven product roadmaps that are well understood and supported across the organization.
  • Products that measurably improve patient enrollment / Captured Charges, provider reimbursement / Captured Revenue, and operational efficiency.
  • Strong cross-functional trust and alignment between Product, Information Technology, Operations, and Strategic Account Management.
  • On-time delivery of high-quality releases with clear adoption and impact metrics.
  • A scalable product foundation that supports PFA’s growth and market leadership in HIPP programs.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of progressive product management experience, including leadership of complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience building and scaling B2B or B2B2C products, preferably in healthcare, fintech, revenue cycle, or regulated environments.
  • Strong understanding of Agile product development, modern discovery practices, and outcome-based roadmapping.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data, analytics, and KPIs to inform decisions and measure product impact.
  • Experience working in fast-growing, change-oriented organizations with evolving priorities.
  • Comfort partnering with executive leadership and communicating product strategy at the board and leadership level.
  • Familiarity with healthcare reimbursement, eligibility, or analytics workflows is a strong plus.
