GRAIL is seeking a Director, Software Product Management, Commercial Software to lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution of our commercial software portfolio. This leader will play a critical role in shaping the systems that power our commercial operations and enable healthcare providers, patients, and partners to access and adopt our life-saving technologies. You will join a cross-functional organization spanning engineering, commercial, laboratory operations, billing, legal, quality, and finance to deliver scalable, secure, and compliant software solutions in a highly regulated clinical environment.
This role requires both strategic vision and operational rigor — someone who can define long-term product direction while driving disciplined execution, balancing customer experience, commercial outcomes, and regulatory requirements.
This role is based in Menlo Park, California, and will move to Sunnyvale, California in Fall 2026. It offers a flexible work arrangement, with the ability to work from GRAIL's office or from home. Our current flexible work arrangement policy requires that a minimum of 60%, or 24 hours, of your total work week be on-site. Your specific schedule, determined in collaboration with your manager, will align with team and business needs and could exceed the 40% requirement for the site. At our Menlo Park campus, Tuesdays and Thursdays are the key days where we encourage on-site presence to engage in events and on-site activities.
Responsibilities
Own the product vision and multi-year roadmap for GRAIL’s commercial software portfolio, aligning strategy to company objectives and market needs
Serve as the senior product leader across commercial software initiatives, representing product in cross-functional leadership forums
Develop deep understanding of provider, patient, and internal commercial workflows, including billing, reimbursement, and revenue cycle management
Translate customer, stakeholder, and regulatory requirements into clear product requirements and prioritized backlogs
Lead end-to-end product development from discovery and design through launch and iteration
Partner closely with engineering, program management, design, quality, legal, and compliance to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable solutions
Ensure adherence to FDA design controls, privacy regulations (HIPAA/GDPR), and internal quality standards
Evaluate business tradeoffs and communicate product decisions effectively across executive and operational stakeholders
Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of software product managers
Establish metrics and feedback loops to measure product performance and drive continuous improvement

Required Qualifications
10+ years of product management experience in healthcare IT, life sciences, diagnostics, or other regulated industries
3+ years of experience directly managing and developing product managers
Experience leading software products subject to FDA design controls and HIPAA compliance requirements
Experience supporting billing, reimbursement, and revenue cycle management workflows
Experience integrating software platforms with EMRs and/or CRMs
Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity, influence without authority, and drive alignment across cross-functional teams
Proven ability to prioritize strategically, negotiate scope, and deliver measurable business outcomes
BS in a technical, scientific, engineering, or quantitative discipline or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience building provider-facing, laboratory, or clinical workflow software
Experience developing platforms that integrate with third-party systems, partners, and enterprise ecosystems
Familiarity with GDPR and global data privacy considerations
Domain knowledge in liquid biopsy or molecular diagnostics
Experience scaling commercial software platforms in high-growth healthcare organizations
Advanced degree (MS, MBA, PhD, or equivalent) in a relevant fiel
The expected, full-time, annual base pay scale for this position is $224K-$321K.
This role may be eligible for other forms of compensation, including an annual bonus and/or incentives, subject to the terms of the applicable plans and Company discretion. This range reflects a good-faith estimate of the range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for the position upon hire; the actual compensation offered may vary depending on factors such as the candidate’s qualifications.
