Position Overview

The Director of Law Firm and Legal Industry Relationships is responsible for developing and managing strategic partnerships with law firms and stakeholders across the legal industry. This role is critical in enhancing the organization's profile, driving business development initiatives, and fostering collaborative relationships that support the company’s strategic goals. The Director will serve as a key liaison between the organization and external legal partners, ensuring mutual value and long-term engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Relationship Management: Establish, cultivate, and maintain strong, productive relationships with law firms, bar associations, legal technology providers, legal marketers and other industry organizations.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue opportunities for collaboration, referral relationships, joint ventures, and business growth through partnerships with legal industry stakeholders.
  • Industry Engagement: Represent the organization at legal industry events, conferences, and forums to promote brand visibility and strengthen networks.
  • Negotiation & Contracting: Takes the initial lead in negotiations for partnership agreements, sponsorships, and other collaborative arrangements, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Final contracting decisions will be made by COO or CEO.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor trends, challenges, and innovations within the legal sector to inform strategy and maintain the organization’s competitive edge.
  • Internal Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership, marketing, and business development teams to align relationship strategies with organizational priorities.
  • Performance Monitoring: Berry Law Scorecard measures the impact and effectiveness of law firm and industry relationships.
  • Facilitate CEO Thought Leadership: Get CEO speaking events at industry events to include keynote speeches and speaking panels.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business Administration.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in legal industry business development, legal industry sales, relationship management, or a related role, preferably within a legal service provider environment.
  • Experience working in a CRM tool where all partnership contacts will be saved, updated, and leveraged for growth.
  • Comes with connections and contacts in the legal industry to include law firm owners and vendors.
  • Must be able to run a booth at a trade show from beginning till end to include: vetting conference opportunities, selecting high value targets and reaching out prior to the conference, securing a booth, logistical planning and execution for the booth, setting goals for each conference. interacting with high value targets,
  • Strong understanding of the B to C legal industry landscape, including law firm sales and marketing operations, alternative legal service providers, and emerging technologies.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining high-value relationships with law firms and industry stakeholders/vendors.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management abilities.
  • Willingness to travel for industry events and partner meetings as required.
