The Director of Infrastructure is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategy, delivery, security, and operation of global infrastructure platforms. This role serves as the highest technical authority for infrastructure and owns project delivery, client onboarding, automation maturity, and operational excellence across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments.
This role has a strong emphasis on client ownership and client-centric delivery, ensuring infrastructure decisions and outcomes consistently support client stability, security, and long-term success.
Requirements
- Senior infrastructure leadership experience (Head of Infrastructure, Director, or equivalent).
- Proven ownership of project delivery and client onboarding in MSP or multi-client environments.
- Strong experience working within an MSP operating model, including RMM and PSA tools.
- Experience across cloud, hybrid, and on-prem infrastructure.
- Leadership experience in incident response, DR/BC, and change management.
- Experience leading distributed technical teams.
- Strong executive communication and client-facing skills.
Preferred qualifications:
- Financial services industry experience.
- Cloud certifications or equivalent experience.
- Hybrid cloud and on-prem integration experience.
- Exposure to automation, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.
- ITIL / ITSM experience.
- Basic Linux administration experience.
- Familiarity with modern cybersecurity platforms.
- Experience with virtual application or desktop platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Strategy & Governance
- Define and own global infrastructure strategy and standards.
- Ensure platforms meet availability, performance, security, and compliance requirements.
- Align infrastructure operations with MSP operating models and repeatable delivery.
Project Delivery & Client Onboarding
- Own infrastructure delivery standards for client onboardings and major projects.
- Oversee technical due diligence, onboarding execution, migrations, and standardization.
- Act as senior escalation point for client-impacting delivery or infrastructure issues.
Hands-On Technical Leadership
- Serve as senior technical authority for architecture and complex escalations.
- Provide leadership across core enterprise infrastructure domains (cloud, hybrid, compute, network, security).
- Lead cloud migrations, upgrades, new site deployments, and global expansions.
Deployment, Automation & Change
- Enforce change control and deployment standards.
- Drive automation and scripting to improve consistency and outcomes.
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines supporting infrastructure delivery.
Operational Excellence & Incident Leadership
- Oversee global infrastructure operations and reliability.
- Lead response to high-severity incidents and outages.
- Own disaster recovery and business continuity planning and testing.
Security, Risk & Compliance
- Own infrastructure security posture, patching, and IAM governance.
- Support cloud governance, monitoring, compliance, and audits.
MSP Tooling & Service Operations
- Ensure effective use of MSP tools including RMM, PSA, ticketing, monitoring, and asset management.
- Integrate tooling with incident management, change control, reporting, and SLAs.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and scale a globally distributed infrastructure team.
- Embed a culture of client ownership, accountability, and service excellence.
- Partner with the CTO and senior leadership on strategy and client delivery priorities.
Financial & Vendor Management
- Own infrastructure budgeting, cost optimization, and vendor management.
- Drive standardization to improve efficiency, scalability, and client outcomes.r system performance, availability, and capacity using cloud-native and third-party tools
