Our client is seeking a Director of Global People Operations to lead and scale people operations across the United States and Europe. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role that blends strategy with execution and partners closely with executive leadership to support a globally distributed workforce.
The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, deep HR and People Ops experience, and proven ability to operate in compliance-heavy, international environments.
Lead global People Operations across the US and European teams
Ensure compliance with US federal/state labor laws and European employment regulations
Oversee onboarding, offboarding, benefits, payroll coordination, HRIS, and people processes
Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on people strategy and employee relations
Partner with managers on performance management, engagement, and talent development
Own HR policies, documentation, and people data reporting
Manage relationships with PEOs, vendors, and local employment partners
8+ years of proven experience in People Operations or HR leadership roles
Hands-on experience with European labor frameworks
Strong working knowledge of US labor law
Experience supporting distributed, multicultural teams
Proven ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience in growth-stage or mission-driven organizations
Experience scaling global teams
Familiarity with HRIS platforms (e.g., BambooHR) and PEOs
Full-time contractor engagement (long-term)
