The Director of Finance Operations will be responsible for setting up, leading and managing a team of finance professionals in the delivery of shared services, in support of accounting, financial analysis, transaction processing, and reporting. The Director of Finance Operations will play a key role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the India finance team, as well as contributing to the overall success of the organization.


JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build, lead, develop and manage a high-performance team of finance professionals, providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Develop and implement financial analysis, accounting, and reporting processes to support all critical finance activities; procure to pay, order to cash, record to report, compensation, financial planning and analysis, financial systems, treasury, tax, payroll, internal audit and global compliances.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance shared services team, ensuring high-quality delivery of services.
  • Provide visibility and ensure continual alignment with US-based functional leaders to ensure consistency in process, policy, goals and objectives 
  • Define and agree SLAs with key stakeholders, including KPIs, and manage performance.
  • Build a culture of continuous improvement that ensures process flows and standard operating procedures are both kept current and reviewed by all staff and stakeholders, and constantly enhanced and improved.
  • Analyze financial and operational data and provide meaningful insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and compliance with internal controls, adherence to SOX, and accounting standards.
  • Continuously assess and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance shared services team and drive strengthening process and control environment.
  • Drive finance and digital transformation initiatives in the finance shared services team, leveraging technology to improve efficiency, accuracy, and the overall delivery of services.
  • Maintain strong controls ensuring all group policies and statutory requirements are complied with by the shared service team. Elevate the relevancy and timeliness of the control environment.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and regulatory agencies. 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • CA/ICWAI/CPA/IIM Finance with a bachelor's or master’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in finance, audit or outsourcing, with at least 5 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience leading and managing a global finance shared services team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide meaningful insights and recommendations.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency with financial systems and software, such as ERP systems, Excel, and Power BI. 
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Experience with RPA and digital transformation initiatives in finance, with a proven track record of successful implementation.
  • Experience with managing SLAs, KPIs and other performance metrics that monitor on-going activities.
  • Proficient in the application of U.S. GAAP.
  • In depth knowledge and experience in managing Indian accounting and statutory compliances.
  • Six-sigma certification preferred.
