Position Description

 

iBusiness Funding is seeking an experienced, strategic, and hands-on Director of Finance to lead and elevate the company’s finance, accounting, treasury, and FP&A functions. This role is ideal for a senior financial leader with deep expertise in GAAP, revenue recognition, CECL, lending and software accounting frameworks, and full-cycle financial management.

 

The Director of Finance will provide leadership and oversight across all finance and accounting activities, including treasury operations, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, internal controls, revenue accounting, loan portfolio accounting, and audit management. This role requires a forward-thinking, analytical leader who thrives in high-growth environments and is eager to build scalable financial infrastructure.

 

This individual will manage direct reports and cultivate a high-performing team. The ideal candidate has a foundation in public accounting or audit, coupled with experience in fintech, lending, or software industries.

 

Major Areas of Responsibility


Technical Accounting, Compliance & Reporting

  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, reporting systems, and treasury activities ensuring strong financial discipline and full GAAP compliance.
  • Lead application of ASC 606 for software and service revenue, including multi-element arrangements, variable consideration, and complex contracts.
  • Govern implementation, methodology, and documentation of ASC 326/CECL for expected credit losses and loan portfolio accounting.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant accounting under ASC 310, ASC 326, ASC 842, and other lending and software-relevant frameworks.
  • Conduct technical accounting research and prepare whitepapers to support accounting positions.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and SOX-related compliance.


Treasury & Cash Management

  • Oversee daily treasury operations including cash positioning, cash forecasting, bank relationships, and liquidity management.
  • Develop and implement robust cash controls for high-volume operational environments.
  • Ensure accuracy in treasury reporting, reconciliations, and fund flow oversight.


Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

  • Lead companywide budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.
  • Build and refine financial models to support revenue forecasting, scenario planning, capital allocation, and strategic initiatives.
  • Deliver monthly and quarterly financial performance packages with actionable insights on KPIs, margins, expenses, and trends.
  • Partner with executive leadership and department heads to drive financial accountability and optimize performance.


Financial Operations, Reporting & Audit

  • Oversee timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Ensure the production of high-quality financial statements, management reports, and board materials.
  • Lead annual financial audits and support regulatory or compliance reviews as needed.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and revenue operations.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline financial processes and systems for scalability.


Leadership & Team Development

  • Manage and mentor direct reports across accounting, treasury, and FP&A.
  • Build a high-performing finance organization through hiring, training, and career development.
  • Foster a collaborative culture, encouraging operational excellence, transparency, and innovation.
  • Serve as a key advisor to senior leadership on financial strategy, risk management, and operational improvements.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • BA in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred. MBA or CFA preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, treasury, FP&A, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing direct reports and building high-performing teams.
  • Strong technical expertise in ASC 606, ASC 310, ASC 326/CECL, ASC 842, and related frameworks.
  • Experience in lending, fintech, or SaaS/software industries strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling proficiency.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate insights clearly.
  • Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite preferred.
  • High integrity, strong executive presence, and a proactive, strategic mindset
