The Director of Engineering, Solution Architecture guides a team of architects to design scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions that meet client objectives. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior clients and internal stakeholders, this position influences technology roadmaps, enforces architectural standards, and fosters innovation. The role requires exceptional leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to translate complex business needs into robust technical solutions. By mentoring and developing architecture talent, the director ensures technical excellence while driving measurable outcomes across enterprise engagements. This role is both hands-on and strategic, shaping the future of solution architecture practices within the organization. Accountabilities:
  • Serve as the senior technical advisor for strategic client accounts, translating business objectives into technical strategies and architectural solutions.
  • Define and enforce architectural standards, principles, and best practices across application and data platform domains.
  • Oversee design and delivery of complex, scalable architectures, ensuring integration, security, and maintainability.
  • Lead and mentor the Solution Architecture Manager and architecture teams, supporting career development and fostering technical excellence.
  • Collaborate with Delivery, Product, DevOps, and Security teams to ensure alignment of technical solutions with business goals.
  • Implement architectural governance, conduct design reviews, and maintain comprehensive documentation of standards, reference architectures, and design decisions.
  • Identify and integrate emerging technologies and architectural patterns to enhance innovation, scalability, and efficiency across solutions.
  • Requirements:
  • 12+ years of technology experience with at least 5+ years in architecture leadership or senior architecture roles.
  • Deep expertise in solution architecture and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure), with experience in microservices, event-driven systems, and API design.
  • Proven track record designing and delivering complex, scalable client-facing solutions.
  • Strong understanding of both application and data platform architecture domains.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and client relationship skills, with ability to engage executive-level stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in establishing architectural governance, frameworks, and design standards across organizations.
  • Leadership and mentoring capabilities with experience developing high-performing architecture teams.
  • Strategic thinker with business acumen and the ability to align technical solutions with organizational goals.
  • Architect and cloud certifications (GCP, AWS, Azure) are a plus but not required.
