Compensation: Our target hiring range is $205,000-$250,000 plus participation in our Annual Bonus Program with eligibility for $12,000 bonus. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience and skills.

Campminder’s Flexible Working Location: Our employees have the option to work 100% remotely within the United States or their choice of days at home and at our office in Boulder, Colorado. We host a variety of all-company hybrid meetings and social events. We require anybody working remotely to have a very reliable, high-speed internet connection.

This role’s mission & overview:
We are looking for a Director of Engineering for our Platform organization at CampCo. This director will own a critical strategic area of our engineering organization, tasked with creating a Data, AI, and DevOps platform that will support multiple different youth experience products, as well as external customers. The Data team is responsible for consolidating and modernizing data and reporting for all CampCo products, and building industry-leading AI-powered data insights and reporting for our customers. The AI team is building our AI platform, to be used both internally by CampCo employees and externally by our customers to innovate on top of the CampCo feature platform. The DevOps and security team is tasked with migrating our development, testing, and deployment infrastructure to the latest best practices designed to support a fully agentic development flow that supports fast, secure innovation.

This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role for someone who thrives on leading teams that are solving hard architectural and platform problems, leading our company into the future of AI, platform, and infrastructure best practices.

As a Director of Engineering for our Platform organization, you will:

  • Lead CampCo Platform engineering organization, which includes the the Data, AI Platform, DevOps, IT, and Security teams
  • Lead the creation of a data platform, to be used by customers directly, by CampCo products internally, and by future youth experience products
  • Lead the creation of an AI platform for both internal and external customers
  • Enable and accelerate AI adoption across all of CampCo , both inside and outside the engineering organization
  • Transform our DevOps and security practices to support a fully scaled agentic development workflow
  • Set high standards for the performance of your teams, in terms of technical, operational, AI utilization, process, project management, and people management best practices
  • Reinforce best practices on your teams with active coaching, iterative improvements, and metrics-driven measurements of results
  • Partner with your product and design counterparts to define the product roadmap for your organization, balancing external and internal customer needs

We think a successful candidate will bring:

  • Experience leading high-performing, highly engaged engineering teams in growth environments, while maintaining strong engineering best practices and high quality
  • Proven track record of continuously leading teams to significantly improve engineering org velocity through tooling, process, and culture changes
  • Proven track record of using metrics to identify, define, and drive improvements in engineering organizations
  • Experience leading engineering platform teams (i.e. DevOps, Data, AI platform, etc.)
  • Experience modernizing the DevOps and automation best practices for an engineering organization to create significant increases in velocity and automation
  • Experience transitioning teams to agentic coding and harness engineering, resulting in significant velocity gains
  • Strong Agile project management skills
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex technical trade-offs into clear business impact for stakeholders and leaders across the organization
  • Excellent coaching and mentorship skills; ability to grow engineers and managers
  • Growth-oriented mindset, with a desire to constantly learn and improve themselves, and improve their teams
  • An effective bridge between their teams and other teams; balances engineering team needs with the needs of the business
