Role Overview

Assistant sits at the core of Harvey’s product suite. It is the entry point into the Harvey ecosystem and drives a large part of our usage and engagement. Assistant is evolving into an agentic platform for our other products and integrations to be built on top of. It is central to Harvey’s strategy of providing a comprehensive suite of products for all types and practice areas of legal work. The team’s work spans across product engineering, core platform components, and AI development & experimentation.

In this role, you’ll work closely with cross-functional partners to help shape the vision and strategy for the Assistant roadmap, including product, platform, and AI components. You’ll lead a team existing managers and senior ICs to ensure strong & sustainable execution across all teams, while continuing to build out a strong team. You will also help drive the technical vision and direction to make Assistant a platform that’s easy to build and integrate with for all of Harvey.

This is a high-impact leadership role for someone excited to scale a flagship product, build infrastructure and systems to support fast product development and experimentation, and build out and grow a world-class applied AI team.

What You'll Do

  • Define the technological and product vision, strategy, and overall plan for the Assistant team, covering product engineering, core platform, and AI components.

  • Ensure robust and consistent execution across the Assistant teams, partnering closely with current managers and senior individual contributors.

  • Work with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, Research, etc.) to establish and achieve the Assistant's objectives.

  • Guide the technical evolution of the Assistant into a scalable, agentic platform that is easily integrated with and built upon by other Harvey products.

  • Recruit, guide, and develop a top-tier applied AI and product engineering staff.

  • Guarantee the team develops infrastructure and systems that support swift product creation, iteration, and AI experimentation.

What You Have

  • Experience working with Generative AI (GenAI) technologies to develop, iterate on, and scale innovative features or products.

  • Demonstrated experience in shipping best-in-class products, whether in the consumer or enterprise space, with a track record of driving significant user value and business impact.

  • Proven success in leading world-class engineering teams within dynamic, high-growth environments such as startups or scale-ups, fostering a culture of technical excellence and rapid iteration.

  • Experience managing managers and Staff+ ICs, including proficiency in coaching, developing, and building high-performing organizational structures.

  • Extensive experience collaborating closely with senior cross-functional (XFN) stakeholders, including but not limited to Product and Design Area Leads, Head of Research, and Operations leadership, to define strategy and deliver on complex company objectives.

Compensation Range

320,000-360,000 USD
