Make an Impact

We are looking for a strategic, creative, and experienced Communications Director to lead our messaging and positioning efforts as expressed in written and graphical content across all media channels. You will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive communication strategy that supports our organization's goals and objectives and work cross-functionally across various departments to generate or compile content to that end. As the spearhead of VERSES “voice,” this role is heavy on copywriting, creative, and curation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Author original works and provide quality assurance editorial input on written content to ensure clarity, coherency, and consistency with brand guidelines and messaging across press releases, pitch decks, blog posts, case studies, newsletters, internal wiki posts, technical white papers, product marketing collateral, social media posts, FAQs, webinar questions, explainer videos, executive summaries, website copy, and other materials.
  • Lead and coordinate third party partners and subcontractors including investor relations, graphic artists, journalists, and agencies.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive communication strategy that supports the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of social media strategies, including content creation and community engagement.
  • Provide strategic communication counsel to senior leadership on issues related to communications, public relations, and reputation management.
  • Monitor analytics and create reports reflecting the successes and failures of communications campaigns and strategies.
  • Perform outreach to press outlets, magazines, influencers, and build strategic partnerships to grow brand awareness.
  • Process relevant public facing written material through SEO tools.


Qualifications

  • Fluency with cutting edge emerging technology such as artificial intelligence, digital identity, web3.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a portfolio of examples that distilled complex and complicated concepts into simple to understand narratives for a variety of audiences and channels.
  • A compelling writing style, discriminating aesthetic sensibilities, and attention to detail.
  • Confident leadership and management skills.
  • Resourcefulness and comfort with ambiguity.
  • 10+ years of experience in marketing, communications, media relations, public relations, or related field, with a demonstrated track record of success in developing and executing communication strategies.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data and trends and develop actionable insights.
  • Experience managing budgets and resources effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities and deadlines.


Great to Haves

  • Experience with light website administration using HTML, CSS, Wordpress, Hubspot or similar.
  • Experience with light multimedia editing using graphics software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, After Effects, Final Cut etc.
  • Deep network of relationships with media outlets and key industry influencers.
