About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and self-driven Director of Accounting specializing in reporting and finance transformation to join our dynamic team. In this key accounting leadership role, you will own all facets of our internal and external financial reporting, overseeing and enhancing our processes of reporting to management stakeholders and public-company-ready GAAP reporting to our parent Company, CBRE. You will be a key project manager and leader in a variety of special projects both related to reporting and enhancing our existing processes. These projects will include driving change in the area of internal controls, enhancing financial systems, and improving the availability and consistency of financial data. In the role, you will deliver actionable financial insights and solutions, as well as optimize processes to support effective decision-making.
This role requires a proven project manager with excellent accounting and finance acumen, who thrives on finding system-driven solutions and designing efficient processes to meet complex business needs. You'll have the opportunity to work across a wide range of financial reporting areas, including providing critical information to business leaders, executives, operators, our parent company, and preparing SEC financial statement disclosures.
You’ll be joining a close knit group of high performing, fun loving, karaoke singing (participation not required!) finance and accounting professionals. We are lovingly known as ‘the money bees’ and have a fantastic team culture and enviable bespoke sweatshirts. Our team mirrors the Industrious culture - we put people first, always assume positive intent with our colleagues and go out of our way to embrace the Industrious values (head, heart, hands) with our own ‘money bee’ flair. One of the high points of our year is the team offsite where we take a couple days to connect with one another, have fun and lean in on the strategic vision for the coming year. You never know what fun surprises our CFO has up his sleeve. For example, this year we’re staying at a castle! There will likely be putt-putt, pub trivia, lots of laughter, great food and amazing memories.
This is a hybrid role, based in New York City, and is expected to be in office two days per week. You will report directly to our VP, Controller, and will have 2 direct reports (from our Manager of Transformation and our Senior Manager of Reporting).
