Director, OCIDO Software Engineering (remote)

This role leads the strategy, development, and delivery of advanced software solutions across a dynamic technology organization. The Director will manage a team of software engineers, providing guidance on technical standards, agile practices, and roadmap execution. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize, design, and implement tools for financial planning, project management, data integration, and analytics. This position combines strategic thinking, hands-on technical expertise, and leadership in managing software delivery to drive innovation and operational excellence. The role offers full remote flexibility while working closely with stakeholders to enable impactful, scalable solutions.

Accountabilities

• Lead the centralized analytical function for tools, technologies, and software engineering within the OCIDO department.
• Provide expert guidance on financial planning tools, strategy management tools, architecture and project management tools, data integrations, dashboards, and analytics.
• Partner with IT governance and advisory teams to align delivery with portfolio requirements, goals, and objectives.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers, establishing delivery methodology, technical standards, and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver product and technical roadmaps.
• Identify, evaluate, prototype, and implement emerging technologies to enhance digital capabilities.
• Oversee integration of new tools into existing systems and ensure effective use of data for decision-making.
• Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors to drive successful software initiatives.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of IT experience, including at least 4 years managing software engineering teams.
• Proven experience leading large-scale agile software projects and managing products throughout their lifecycle.
• Strong strategic thinking across business, product, and technical domains.
• Demonstrated experience hiring, mentoring, coaching, and developing engineers and future leaders.
• Experience collaborating with software, services, and technology vendors.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, finance, business administration, or related field.
• Preferred: background in software engineering, IT consulting, client engagement, or delivering software using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
