Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Director – Global Sourcing, based in North America, to lead and enhance our Global Sourcing team. The position reports to the Vice President of Procurement & Workplace. The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of experience in leading Procurement and Strategic Sourcing teams. They should be fluent in managing complex supplier negotiations and relationships, creating internal business partner alignment, working closely with other Shared Service partners (i.e. Finance, Legal, Risk, etc.), Policy, Process, Purchase Orders/Requisitions, and Contracting. People leadership and development is also a major part of the role. This position is also instrumental as a leader of Global Procurement as a whole. The ideal candidate has familiarity with Jira, Power Apps, Power BI & AI, and SAP. This role requires a strong background in technology support, process automation, and data visualization to drive operational efficiency and business insights in Procurement domain.
What You Will Do
People & Team Leadership:
Leads a team of 5 people who are responsible for all Supplier negotiations across Sophos, including contracting, supplier management, stakeholder engagement, and business partner alignment.
Partner with the VP - Procurement, Purchasing team lead, and Sr. Manager of Procurement Reporting & Analytics to lead and set direction of the Procurement organization.
Technology Support & Solution Design:
Partner with Procurement leaders to lead the design, development, and maintenance of workflows, dashboards, and reports.
Provide technical expertise in automating processes and optimizing team collaboration.
Ensure seamless integration between tools to enhance business operations.
Data Analytics & Reporting:
Provide guidance to design and maintain Power BI dashboards to provide actionable insights.
Ensure data accuracy, visualization effectiveness, and business intelligence reporting.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Partner with IT, business leaders, and cross-functional teams to align technology and operations solutions with business goals.
Act as a trusted advisor for process improvements and system enhancements.
Governance & Best Practices:
Define and implement best practices for operations and technology, including JIRA, Confluence, Power Apps, Power BI usage & AI.
Maintain compliance with security, governance, and data integrity policies.
Provide enterprise-wide leadership and oversight to ensure procurement activities consistently comply with corporate policies, governance frameworks, and delegated authority structures.
Define and institutionalize procurement governance models, ensuring alignment with organizational risk appetite, audit standards, and regulatory requirements.
Establish executive governance mechanisms including supplier reviews, QBRs, and performance scorecards to drive transparency and accountability.
Serve as the executive escalation point for procurement compliance issues, contractual deviations, and SLA breaches, ensuring timely resolution and business continuity.
Partner with Legal, Finance, Internal Audit, and Risk leadership to strengthen contract adherence, financial controls, and compliance assurance.
Provide strategic direction on standardization of SLAs, KPIs, and commercial frameworks, embedding performance-driven contracts across the supplier ecosystem.
Lead risk-based supplier governance, proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating compliance, operational, and reputational risks.
Deliver executive dashboards and governance reporting to senior leadership and board-level forums on compliance posture, SLA health, and risk exposure.
Drive a culture of ethical procurement, accountability, and continuous improvement across global sourcing and purchasing organizations.
Sponsor and govern process transformation initiatives that enhance compliance automation, audit readiness, and performance sustainability.
Ensure procurement governance scales effectively with business growth, acquisitions, and geographic expansion.
What You Will Bring
15+ years of experience in procurement operations, contracting, negotiations, technology support, process automation, and data visualization.
Proven track record of optimizing workflows and driving automation.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and collaboration tools.
Experience in leading and mentoring technology support teams.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and other collaboration tools.
Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) processes.
Experience with advanced AI capabilities and prompts a plus.
In the United States, the base salary for this role ranges from $150,000 to $250,000. In addition to base salary, we offer additional compensation including bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package. A candidate’s specific pay within this range will depend on a variety of factors, including job-related skills, training, location, experience, relevant education, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
