As a Director, Global KYC Operations & Transformation with Convera, based at our Vilnius, Lithuania office (hybrid), you will be you will be a senior enterprise leader shaping the future of customer onboarding and monitoring across multiple jurisdictions. This role balances regulatory rigor with frictionless customer experience and operational scalability. As a trusted advisor to executive leadership, you will define global KYC strategy, lead digital transformation, and ensure compliance excellence while enabling growth.

Success in this role depends on strong partnership with Compliance and Product leadership. You will work hand-in-hand with these teams to align regulatory requirements with innovative customer solutions, ensuring KYC processes enable growth while maintaining compliance integrity. You will be at the center of a three-way partnership: Operations, Compliance, and Product, driving solutions that balance risk, regulation, and customer experience. This cross-functional influence is critical to shaping the future of our global KYC strategy.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • KYC Strategy & Enterprise Governance
  • Contribute to the global KYC strategy through operational execution, ensuring alignment to enterprise risk appetite and growth goals
  • Drive transformation initiatives including automation, AI-driven screening, and data analytics.
  • Work in lockstep with 2nd and 3rd line to identify and operationalize changes as needed, supporting regulatory and banking partnership to remediate where necessary
  • Collaborate with Product leadership to design frictionless onboarding experiences that meet KYC standards without compromising customer experience.
  • Act as a senior decision-maker for complex, high-risk escalations and regulatory matters.
  • Drive holistic ways of working across multi-jurisdictional teams and timezones, ensure teams meet global standards (SLA’s, KPIs, and Process Adherence). Own the training and process excellence requirements and outcomes of the KYC global operations.

 

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Leadership

  • Ensure compliance with global and local AML/KYC regulations.
  • Support regulatory exams, audits, and remediation programs.
  • Partners with Compliance to execute policy and processes to support regulatory change and drive enterprise implementation.

 

Operational Excellence

  • Provide executive oversight of KYC operations across regions.
  • Manage and refine KPIs, SLAs, quality metrics, and reporting.
  • Owns policy implementation, drive operational risk management, ensuring all activities are compliant with company policies and regulations.
  • Maintain financial and budgetary oversight, optimizing costs while maintaining service quality.

 

Transformation & Change

  • Lead digital, automation, and data-driven KYC transformation initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and adoption of new processes.
  • Always be asking Why things are done the way they are and drill down to the root cause of problems to solve at the core.
  • Partner with Technology and Product Leaders on future-state design.
  • Manages complex cases and is the decision maker in escalations
  • Utilize data-driven decision-making to identify and implement process improvements that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.

 

People Leadership

  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performance teams, service and quality within the site and across 3 global locations.
  • Own succession planning, workforce strategy, and health.
  • Be a role model within the Organization.

 

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as trusted advisor to executive leadership and governance forums.
  • Build a deep, collaborative relationship with Compliance leadership to ensure regulatory alignment and proactive risk management.
  • Partner closely with Product teams to embed KYC requirements into customer journeys and accelerate go-to-market timelines.
  • Represent the function with regulators and external stakeholders.
  • Manage internal stakeholder relationships – E.G strong partner to Compliance and KYC Product teams to drive improvements and improved servicing times for Go To market and the customer

 

You should apply if you have:

  • Extensive experience in KYC/AML/Financial Crime with core experience in entity (Business and Enterprise) onboarding within banking, fintech, or payments.
  • Good understanding and application of relevant Global AML regulation and legislation.
  • Proven enterprise leadership and multi-region operational experience.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with commitment to quality
  • Proven ability to manage service levels to targets, projects and deliverables to completion.
  • Strong transformation experience: automation, data analytics, and digital onboarding.
