Director, Finance - Technology & Engineering

$135,000 – $160,000 per year

Support financial operations for a growing media company managing over $150M in projects, while partnering with leadership on strategic decisions.

The Director serves a key role on the Versant Production & Distribution Finance team, reporting to the Director, Production & Distribution Finance and serving as an operational finance support partner to the “Technology & Engineering” team. The role provides the unique opportunity for extensive visibility with the Versant leadership team and experience both shaping and managing the operations of a recently formed Media company.

The Production & Distribution Finance team is responsible for providing the full suite of operational Finance support to the President of Operations & Technology. This team will be responsible for supporting strategic decisions on the set-up of the Versant Operations & Technology function and providing ongoing financial support on day-to-day operations and guiding long-term initiatives. The Director of Technology & Engineering Finance will specifically support Operations Leaders, including the SVP of Technology & Engineering as well as a team of 600+ Full Time Employees (6 Operations Vice Presidents+).  Technology & Engineering Operations manages expenses and capital projects in excess of $150M.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the President of Operations & Technology and Operations Leadership team in making strategic decisions related to setting-up new technical and operational solutions for Versant
  • Providing ongoing operational finance support for the Technology & Engineering team, including enabling Company-wide Technology support/solutions, Engineering infrastructure, Satellite Operations, managing key vendor relationships, and providing financial support across Versant Operations
  • Managing tracking of Technology & Engineering operating expenses and allocating capital spend in collaboration with Operations & Technology Finance/Ops. Teams and Versant Corporate FP&A team
  • Partnering with Versant Corporate FP&A team with key inputs for ongoing forecasting, including budgets/long-range plans, in-year pacing and ad hoc financial analysis on Operations & Technology organization and specifically for Technology & Engineering Operations

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or Accounting and a minimum 7 years of experience in Accounting or Finance
  • Solid project management skills
  • Proven execution focus with the ability to multi-task and support wide ranging business initiatives

Desired Characteristics:

  • Previous experience in the media and entertainment industry highly preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of an organization
  • Comfort with a culture of adaptability with continuous refinement of roles and processes
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment 

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Subject to change based on Manager discussion or business need.

Salary range: $135,000 - $160,000 (bonus eligible)
