The Role

As a Director of Platform Core Services at BeyondTrust, you will use your technical and leadership expertise to bring to market a highly scalable, reliable, available, and secure multi-tenant SaaS platform. You will be responsible for the architecture and implementation of platform services working collaboratively with product managers, program managers, architects, development managers, and other engineering and cross-functional leaders. You will also be responsible for mentoring teams in embracing cloud technologies, rapidly scaling teams, and advocating engineering excellence.

What You’ll Do

• Own the full lifecycle of foundational platform services that must be always on, including authentication, authorization, gateway, and customer onboarding.
• Drive a culture of continuous learning and continuous improvement, with a focus on predictable delivery and measurable outcomes.
• Enable teams to be self-sufficient, establish clear ownership; and drive clear deliverables, roles, and responsibilities across teams.
• Partner on architecture decisions for the platform and supporting infrastructure across services, data, pipelines, and deployment.
• Build and deliver platform roadmaps with strong product thinking, bring vision, treat platform services as products, and operate with a customer-obsessed mindset.
• Mentor and coach leaders, scale leaders of leaders, and strengthen the engineering leadership bench.
• Create a culture of collaboration across globally distributed teams.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
• 10+ years of software development experience, including building and operating production systems.
• 5+ years of experience in delivering multi-tenant cloud-based SaaS products.
• Experience building or migrating products to distributed event-based systems using cloud-native technologies.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and knowledge of cloud designs.   
• Knowledge of DORA metrics, how to use them, and how to use them to drive improvements.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies with proven track of record of product delivery.
• Excellent time management, communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Nice To Have

• Able to align stakeholders around shared goals and drive delivery, managing risk and constraints through clear communication, simplification, and focus.
• Deep experience with cloud-native technologies and architectures (AWS preferred), including distributed systems and event-driven patterns.
• Strong observability and reliability experience in cloud environments, including metrics, logs, tracing, and incident workflows.
• Experience building cloud-scale streaming, analytics, and data products.
• Strong ability in communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences and map business needs to technical plans.
• Strong spoken and written communication skills with a track record of building a strong written culture.
• Demonstrated creative problem-solving in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
