Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Global’s modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost.

We are seeking a Director, Corporate Accounting, to join our Controllership team. This position will report to our Controller and will be located in Arlington, VA.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Manage all corporate and consolidated month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities including journal entries, reconciliations, intercompany allocations, variance analyses, integrity validations, etc.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and records in accordance with company policy and generally accepted accounting principles
  • Maintain a system of internal controls over accounting transactions and areas of responsibility
  • Maintain master data (e.g., chart of accounts, cost centers, etc.) and an orderly accounting filing system
  • Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements – promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational innovation
  • Partner with FP&A on preparation of variance analyses
  • Partner with operational accounting, financial reporting, accounts payable and technical accounting teams to resolve and record appropriate accounting entries
  • Manage and mentor corporate accounting team members
  • Other duties as required and assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • CPA certification required
  • 8+ years of experience in industry
  • Intercompany accounting and consolidations experience required
  • SAP experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Excel including the use of pivot tables and advanced data analysis formulas
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP, including preparation of audited GAAP financial statements
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing a high-performing team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Discretion in dealing with confidential material
