Director, Business Development and Strategic Growth, CJADC2 (TC2258)

TLDR

Lead growth initiatives and capture strategies within the CJADC2 market area, focusing primarily on the US Army and collaborating with technical and strategy stakeholders.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Strategic Customer/Partner Execution: Take the lead on the "Front End" of the house—identifying/shaping opportunities and  capturing  customer needs—then collaborating seamlessly with RII’s technical, program and strategy stakeholders to establish and execute winning next steps.

  • Pipeline Ownership: Own and manage the BD pipeline in direct partnership with the Line of Business and Strategy/Growth leadership. You will report on KPPs, bookings and revenue projections, and $P(Win)$ metrics with total accountability.

  • Technical Selling: Act as a "Technical Translator." While you don’t need to be an engineer, you must possess enough technical and operational depth to articulately sell our products and offerings, understand CJADC2/C5ISR architectures, and convey our unique value proposition to subject matter experts.

  • Capture Strategy & Leadership: Develop and execute comprehensive capture strategies, including competitive assessments, teaming arrangements, and Price-to-Win (PTW) analyses for programs ranging from $10M to $200M.

  • Relationship Architecture: Foster and strengthen deep-rooted relationships within Aberdeen Proving Ground, NGC2 stakeholders, and acquisition organizations to shape customer needs ahead of the formal RFP stage.

  • AI-Enabled Efficiency: Leverage AI tools and modern workflows to work smarter—automating routine pipeline tasks, conducting rapid market research, and utilizing generative tools to draft high-quality initial content for RFIs and white papers.

  • WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
  • Proven BD Acumen: You are a seasoned BD professional with a career built in the industry. You have a track record of navigating the federal acquisition lifecycle (this is not a role for those transitioning directly from military service without prior industry BD experience).

  • Army Growth Success: 10+ years of federal government business experience, with at least 5+ years of dedicated Growth/Capture/BD experience specifically supporting US Army opportunities.

  • Contractual Expertise: Solid working knowledge of the DoD Acquisition Process, RFP analysis, and contract vehicles/types (IDIQ, CSOs, OTAs, CPFF, FFP) and agreements (NDAs, TAs).

  • Communication Excellence: Demonstrated ability to deliver compelling presentations to Executive Management and high-ranking DoD officials.

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or business discipline.

  • EVEN BETTER
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Prior experience in the design, development, or operational employment of C2 and Intel systems.

  • Tech-Forward Workflow: Experience using AI-driven platforms (e.g., for proposal drafting, data analysis, or CRM automation) to increase output and accuracy.

  • S&T / PoR Knowledge: A successful track record with DoD Science and Technology (S&T) organizations and Programs of Record (PoR).

  • Methodology: Mastery of formal Capture processes (e.g., Shipley) adapted for a fast-paced, modern environment.
