Rockstar Games is seeking a Digital Media Capture Manager to oversee our media capture operations at our state-of-the art performance capture facility in Bethpage, Long Island. The Digital Media Capture Manager will work side by side with our performance capture management team to capture and create the world’s best video game character animations.

This role will manage the team that maintains and operates our proprietary AV capture systems and be a key component to the success of our fast-paced productions.

This is a full-time, in-office position based out of Rockstar’s performance capture studio in Bethpage, Long Island. 

WHAT WE DO

  • The Rockstar Games Performance Capture team collaborates with animators, directors, and artists from around the world to produce the significant range of character animations required for our games.
  • We use innovative technology to inform and capture our actors' movement, facial, and audio data to develop photo realistic content in our games.
  • We fabricate sets, customize hardware, develop props, and use every tool possible to achieve the highest standards for our shoots.
  • We work with motion-captured camera rigs and animated virtual cameras to build camera movements and angles that are grounded in the real world.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise teams across multiple studio locations during various production shoots, including Performance Capture and ADR/Voiceover work.
  • Schedule team coverage for any production needs across stages and remote locations.
  • Facilitate training of new Capture Technicians.
  • Perform managerial duties such as 1:1s, prepping and presenting annual performance reviews, approving timesheets, and approving expense reports.
  • Quickly identify problems and provide solutions to help keep our systems and equipment operational in real time.
  • Review and approve plans for equipment maintenance and supplies replenishment.
  • Support inter-departmental workflows to keep up with the pace and demands of production.
  • Developing professional relationships with key stakeholders inside and outside our department.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years experience working in motion capture technology or as part of a motion capture animation pipeline.
  • 5+ years experience in team management.
  • Established leadership skills with track record of building and leveling up strong team members.
  • Experience using both still and video cameras, including knowledge of motion capture head mounted cameras.
  • Basic understanding of video signals, connectors, and cabling.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others to share knowledge, expertise, and standard processes.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and take initiative.

The pay range for this position in New York State (inclusive of New York City) at the start of employment is expected to be between the range below* per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.  

 

Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.  Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
