The Purpose

This role is accountable for leading ConnectID’s use of identity standards, and applying them in market solutions, ensuring alignment with global digital identity frameworks while enabling secure, interoperable and scalable ecosystem delivery.

ConnectID operates a multi-party identity ecosystem that depends on trust, interoperability, and standards alignment. This role exists to ensure ConnectID remains aligned to global best practice (OIDC, OAuth, FAPI, Verifiable Credentials) while solving real-world implementation challenges faced by participants.

By providing strategic architectural leadership and hands-on technical guidance, this role ensures ConnectID delivers trusted, high-assurance digital identity capabilities that align with AP+’s public-interest mandate while meeting the needs of a diverse and evolving payments ecosystem.

Key Outcomes the Role Owns:

  • Represent ConnectID in global and local identity standards forums.
  • Shape and influence identity standards relevant to the ecosystem.
  • Design pragmatic, implementable solutions to internal and external challenges.
  • Translate standards into clear specifications and patterns.
  • Act as a trusted authority to banks, vendors, and partners.

You’ll likely be a strong fit for this role if you can confidently answer “yes” to some of the following:

  • Have you operated as a principal or Lead Identity Architect within an organisation delivering a digital identity capability?
  • Have you had responsibility for implementing Identity Standards or Trust Frameworks, or Open Banking / CDR?
  • Are you a senior Identity Consultant or Advisor known for your deep technical expertise across identity architectures, authentication protocols and assurance models?
  • Have you led product or platform strategy in the identity domain, combining technical depth with commercial and ecosystem awareness?
  • Are you deeply credible in identity standards and authentication protocols (e.g. OIDC, OAuth 2.0, FAPI, ISO & W3C VC standards), with the ability to interpret and apply them pragmatically?
  • Have you demonstrated capability to architect / design solutions and then work with teams to ensure their delivery
  • Can you influence stakeholders, regulators, architects and external partners without relying on formal authority?
  • Have you successfully delivered in complex, regulated, multi-party environments where interoperability and trust are critical?
  • Are you motivated by ecosystem impact and national-scale outcomes, rather than title or hierarchy alone?
