Digital Designer (Parental Leave Cover Contract - Part-Time)

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Digital Designer to join our global design team in a part-time capacity for 12months fixed-term contract (parental leave cover)

Remote role based in Australia.

This role will take ownership of design delivery for APAC customers. You will work closely with our US-based designer to ensure all projects are delivered to a consistent standard. You will help design for customers using our website product built on Craft CMS, contribute to theme designs, support app design work and complete ad hoc design tasks as required.

A successful candidate will be confident speaking with customers, running design sessions, and presenting work. You will have strong digital design experience, understand responsive design, and be comfortable working in Figma.

This role is a part-time 12-month fixed-term contract (2 days a week)

Responsibilities:

As our APAC-based Digital Designer, you will be responsible for:

• Designing engaging and functional websites from discovery through to go live

• Managing and delivering digital design projects for APAC customers

• Running design workshops and customer meetings, gathering requirements and translating insights into user-centred wireframes and designs

• Presenting design concepts clearly and confidently to customers and internal teams

• Creating accessible and responsive layouts that align with WCAG best practices

• Working closely with developers, project managers and product designers to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions

• Updating existing customer sites and supporting ad hoc design requests

• Contributing to our theme library and helping maintain design systems, templates and components

• Staying current with UX trends and applying them to your design process

• Maintaining clear communication across co-located and remote teams in APAC and NAM

Requirements

• At least 2-5 years of experience in digital design

• Experience in responsive web design and designing for CMS driven websites

• Confident communicator who can present work, lead workshops and liaise directly with customers

• Detail-oriented, organised, and able to work independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

• Experience designing in Figma, working with components, design libraries and developer handoff

• Experience working in co-located or distributed teams

• Understanding of WCAG accessibility standards

• Experience with Jira, Slack and similar tools

• Strong empathy for users and customers, with the ability to listen, understand needs and build trusted relationships

• Experience designing within Craft CMS or similar platforms is beneficial, but not required

• Interaction and prototyping experience is beneficial
