Digital Designer, BIA

AI overview

Lead the design system and create high-quality digital designs for large-scale e-commerce projects, influencing both brand consistency and user experience.

ABOUT THE JOB

Build in Amsterdam is looking for an experienced Digital Designer who can split their time between leading design system work and delivering high-quality digital design for large-scale e-commerce projects. You’ll work closely with strategists, UX designers, and developers to ensure our designs scale efficiently, stay on brand, and perform beautifully across platforms. This role is as much about shaping the way we design as it is about creating exceptional interfaces. You will champion design systems that make our work faster, more consistent, and easier to implement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

● Design System work

● Design and maintain scalable UI components and patterns within a cross-platform

design system.

● Define components, tokens, and usage guidelines that work seamlessly with

development workflows.

● Make smart decisions on when to use, adapt, or extend the system for project-

specific needs.

● Collaborate with developers to ensure smooth implementation and consistent quality.

● Contribute to onboarding, documentation, and visual standards that help teams apply

the system confidently.

● Continuously evolve the system based on stakeholder feedback, accessibility

standards, and design trends.

● Educate teams and clients on the value of system-driven design through

presentations, workshops, and practical guidance.

Digital Design

● Translate strategy, UX, and brand into visually compelling interfaces with attention to

detail, motion, and clarity.

● Design high-quality digital experiences for flagship e-commerce projects, from initial

concepts to polished UI.

● Bring fresh ideas and cross-industry inspiration to elevate visual design and system

thinking.

● Collaborate with UX, brand, and development teams to bring designs to life.

● Ensure pixel-perfect delivery with detailed specs, prototypes, and a strong eye for

craft.

● Be comfortable contributing to product design work for e-commerce platforms when

needed, from refining flows to shaping user interactions.

● Occasionally work on interactive landing pages and campaign experiences, bringing

brand stories to life beyond standard e-commerce UI.
